Complete the puzzle
Build the jigsaw puzzle first — the full picture, finished.

Lay the cards over the puzzle
Then place the cards on top of the puzzle, matching each to the image — picture-side up.

Pick up down each column
Start top-left. Go straight down the first column, stacking as you go — then move to the top of the next column and repeat.

Flip the deck & read
When every card is in one stack, turn the whole deck over. Your story is on the back.
Keep every card image-side up as you gather — that's what makes the story line up.
The important bit: pick the cards up down each column, not across.
